James Hale
James "Jim" Willis Hale, 81, of Chickamauga, Georgia, died on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Chattanooga, to the late Burke Elder Hale, Sr. and Addie Almeada Hendrickson Hale. He had lived most of his life in Chickamauga where he enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He retired from Combustion Engineering in Chattanooga, after 42 years of employment. He was a member of the Local Boiler Makers Union. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Chickamauga.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Burke Elder Hale, Jr., Zirkle Tapp, Virgil Tapp, Pearline Hendrickson, Virginia Head.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wanda Modean Norris Hale, their children: Trudy (L.C.) Cupp, Calvin Lee (Joan) Hale all of Chickamauga, Karen Sue (George) Scarborough of Flintstone, brother: Samuel Hale of Boaz, Al., grandchildren: Sandra Green, Jason Cupp, Kevin Hale, Jessica Hale, great-grandchildren: Kristen Green, Kerri Green, Maci Tinker, Abigal Hale, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.–9 p.m. and Monday morning prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, in the J. Avery Bryan Chapel with Reverends Charles McElhaney and Mike Angel officiating. Burial will follow at LaFayette Memory Gardens - LaFayette.
