Fannin, Louise Evans Wright (Trenton)

Louise Evans Wright Fannin, 94, of Trenton, GA, died on Sunday, November 23, 2014.

Born in Chatsworth, GA, she was a longtime resident and community leader in Trenton, GA. She was a member of the Trenton United Methodist Church, where she taught Adult Sunday School for many years. Louise was a World War II veteran, she was one of the first female service members to enter the European Theater serving as one of Dwight D. Eisenhower’s secretaries, among other assignments. Louise was the owner of Wright’s Restaurant, retired from the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service and served as the City Recorder for the City of Trenton.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Leon Fannin.

She is survived by two sisters, Geneva (Bill) Bryson of Chatsworth, GA and Evelyn (Luther) Whitaker of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trenton United Methodist Church, PO Box 6, Trenton, GA 30752 in the name of Louise Fannin.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday November 26, at Trenton United Methodist Church with Rev. Reece Fauscett officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Novembe 25 at Ryan Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
