Evans, Ja Coby Demarrge (Summerville)

Ja Coby Demarrge Evans, 30, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Evans was born Dec. 29, 1983, in Rome, Ga., the son of Stacey Dimaggio Evans and Monica Diane Ford. Ja Coby was educated in the Chattooga County School System and graduated in 2005.  He was a member of the Mount Zion Church in Coosa, Ga., where he attended regularly.

Survivors include his mother, Monica Diane Ford; father, Stacey D. Evans; sister, Destiny U. Evans; grandparents, Will H. Ford, Mary N. Martin, Alvin D. Evans, and Mildred Jones; and a nephew, J. A’ Vion Cotton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Mason Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Charles Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Mr. Evans will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour on Saturday.
