"Terrell (Robinson) was the bright spot on offense …  He did some nice things at quarterback as he is so illusive."

UTC offensive coordinator Jeff Durden

In the final scrimmage of pre-season – Friday afternoon at Finley Stadium -  UTC head coach Russ Huesman  saw some bright spots, countered by some sloppy play.

“I am probably never happy,” said Huesman.

“Satisfield? No … Best camp we could have had?  Probably not.”

“Yet today we put the guys in lots of situations, including some game management plays which was good.

(Scrimmage Stats at end of story)

Scoring and Defense:

Touchdown passes by Jacob Huesman (2) (to Terrell Robinson, 53 yards and to Faysal Shafaat, 5 yards) and Terrell Robinson (to Xavier Borishade, 43 yards) ...

Nick Pollard converted on four of five field goals ... Alex Kirby had an interception and pass break-up and Taylor Reynolds had a quarterback sack ... defensive tackle Derrick Lott had five tackles for loss

Plenty of Options ... nine Mocs caught at least one pass with T-Rob leading with 5 catches for 124 yards and the one score

Coach Huesman’s Comments on Kicking:

Good Kicking Game: “Nick Pollard did a good job on field goals (4 of 5) … he’s been way too quick on getting to the ball so we slowed him down and the results were positive today.”

Pollard was good from 30 on the opening drive by the No.1 offense … followed by a 37 yarder … and then a 44 yarder which would have been a career-long if kicked in a game … he also converted the extra point after a 53-yard TD pass and catch from Jacob Huesman to Terrell Robinson on the fifth series. … he then missed one from 45, but split the uprights from 37 at the end of practice.

Henrique Ribeiro missed s 38 yarder

Jeff Durden, Offensive Coordinator's Comments

“Running game was good … Terrell Robinson was the bright spot as he is so illusive … Jacob threw okay and had the long touchdown pass to Terrell, but of course made a mistake on the interception (by Alex Kirby) … those mistakes can be fixed.”
