David Blackburn, vice chancellor and director of athletics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), will be the featured speaker at the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce's Downtown Council meeting on Thursday.
David Blackburn was named UTC’s vice chancellor and director of athletics in late April. A 1990 graduate of the University of Tennessee (UT) with a Bachelor of Science in Education, Mr. Blackburn has over two decades of experience in college athletics. He began his career at UT in 1993 working with then-head football coach Phillip Fulmer, serving in a variety of roles within the program. Prior to assuming his current role at UTC, Mr. Blackburn served as a senior-level administrator offering direct oversight for the UT football program.
The event, sponsored by Pressed4Time, will take place from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel located at 407 Chestnut St. The public is invited to come early and stay late for networking. Admission is $10 and includes a full breakfast.
