McCallie's Cum Laude Society Inducted 29 new members on Nov. 30.
The McCallie School Chapter of the Cum Laude Society invited 29 members of the senior class to membership Nov. 30 in a campus ceremony in the Chapel.
Students are elected to Cum Laude based on exceptional academic achievement alone as measured by cumulative grade point average.
Only a student’s work at McCallie is considered, and a student must have been at McCallie for at least one full year.
McCallie has sponsored a Cum Laude Chapter since 1952, and it is the oldest of its kind in the State of Tennessee.
Jeff Kurtzman, Cum Laude advisor and assistant director of college guidance, read the names of those inducted after he challenged the Upper School student gathering to continue to expand their minds long after they have left McCallie.
