Prater, Wayne (Pikeville)

Wayne Prater, 51, of Pikeville, TN, passed away on Sunday December 23, 2012. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie V. Prater and Winona (Simmons) Prater; and a sister, Deborah K. Smith. 

Wayne is survived and will be missed by his brother, Benny Prater; his sister, Treva (Price) Beasley; nieces, Regina (Mike) Smith and Debbie Wright; nephews, Bobby “Tojo” (Kim) Wright, Nick Smith and Brandon Smith; and many dear friends. 

A Celebration of His Life will be held in the chapel of Pikeville Funeral Home on Thursday, December 27, at 12 p.m. The service will be officiated by Bro. Wayne Sullivan. Burial will be in the Hitchcock Cemetery.

The family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26 at the Pikeville Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.

Shelba Helms Parks, 79, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, February 18, 2017. Mrs. Parks was a native of Fort Payne, Al., and has lived in Chattanooga since 2001. Man Found With 2,218 Grams Of Crystal Meth At East Ridge Motel; 2nd Man Has 44.5 Grams Of Meth

Authorities arrested two men outside an East Ridge motel with one having 2,218 grams of meth in a backpack and the other 44.5 grams of meth. Samuel Swafford was the man with the backpack and William Hayden Masengale had the other large amount of meth.
