Brainerd Getting A Chick-fil-A

Brainerd is finally getting one of the popular Chick-fil-A restaurants.

It is nearing completion in the parking area of Brainerd Village.

A new International House of Pancakes was built nearby earlier.

Remaining tenants at Brainerd Village include Little Caesar's Pizza, Jackson Bakery, Badcock, Hancock Fabrics, Amigos, Mogolian Grill and a uniform store.

Restaurant Planned In Long-Abandoned House On Willow Street

A restaurant is being planned in a long-abandoned house on Willow Street. Matthew Ballard said he bought the house at 1302 Watkins in 2016 at an IRS tax sale. The City Council on Tuesday night approved UGC zoning for the property so the restaurant operation can go forward. A man and a woman were killed in a Sunday morning murder/homicide at a gas station in Hixson.
