The Chattanooga Girls Choir will present their annual Winter Concert “Holidays with Family and Friends” under the leadership of Artistic Director, LuAnn Holden, on Friday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m. Choir members in 3rd through 12th grades, along with CGC alumnae will perform sacred and secular holiday favorites.
The choir is committed to programming a varied and balanced repertoire of literature so the concert will offer music ranging from historical pieces to multi-cultural songs to seasonal contemporary favorites. Arrangements performed by the Concert Choir will include “The First Noel / Pachelbel’s Canon,” with piano and violin accompaniment, “I Saw Three Ships,” and “Carol of the Bells.” Younger choirs will entertain the audience with “Calypso Noel”—complete with percussion accompaniment and choreography, “Hanukah, O Hanukah,” and “Dormi, Dormi,” followed by an arrangement of “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”
All levels of the Chattanooga Girls Choir will combine to sing “Christmas…In About Three Minutes” and then conclude with its traditional closing piece, “Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music.
