Job Description:
The Visitor Services position is a hands-on position that requires a combination of an outgoing personality, the ability to engage and explain the property to visitors and computer skills. Primary Duties:
Ensure each visitor receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment which includes knowledge of the property, greeting visitors & fielding questions, directing customer phone calls to appropriate department, promoting upcoming events and programs and maintaining outstanding customer service standards.
Promote and handle onsite sales and upselling for general & group admission, gift shop sales, canoe equipment rentals, facility rentals and membership sales. Ensure accurate daily register activities balance receipts from Point of Sale system.
Monitor and ensure the safe, proper and clean appearance of the Visitor Center’s public spaces communicating issues to the appropriate personnel. Maintain gift shop, brochure racks and information boards in/around the visitor center to promote organizational facilities and upcoming events/programs.
Under direction by the Director of Education, provide interpretative programs and assist with birthday party animal encounters to enhance the visitor experience on the property’s living collections and history.
