May is National Stroke Awareness Month and on Saturday, Olivet Baptist Church Health/Nursing Ministry partnered with CHI Memorial Stroke Team and Vascular Institute of Chattanooga/ Vein Clinic for an awareness event.
The Stroke Team provided stroke education and prevention information. Stroke survivors gave their stroke incidents and recovery journey and the Vascular Institute of Chattanooga/ Vein Clinic staff performed carotid artery disease screenings via ultrasound with educational literature provided.
The goal of the event was "Promoting a Healthier You."
Psi Chi Chi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, a professional registered nurse sorority, was in attendance supporting this vascular care event.
