Jesse Jones, president of the Whitfield Professional Fire Fighters Association announced that the organization was endorsing Jevin Jensen for chairman of the Whitfield County Board of Commissioners. This is the organization’s first endorsement for chairman in Whitfield County.

“I am pleased to announce that our executive board unanimously endorsed Jevin Jensen in his re-election bid for chairman of the Whitfield County Board of Commissioners,” said Mr. Jones. “Whitfield County has made tremendous strides in improving the support for and daily lives of our fire fighters.
We look forward to continuing that journey for the next four years with Chairman Jensen.”

The Whitfield Professional Fire Fighters Association comprises full-time employees of the Whitfield County Fire Department and its retirees. The local association is part of the International Association of Fire Fighters, which has 344,000 members in the United States and Canada. The Whitfield Professional Fire Fighters Association also engages in numerous charitable activities in the community.

“I have always admired our local fire fighters' training, dedication and bravery,” said Mr. Jensen. “This admiration grew stronger last fall when they saved the life of a friend of mine. We have made great progress in the last three years in better supporting our first responders and their valuable work for our citizens, with more to come. It is a true honor to receive their endorsement.”

Mr. Jensen is seeking re-election in the May 21 general election. Early voting has already begun at the board of elections office in the court house and will run through May 17.
