Early Morning Fire Burns Private Dock And Boat At Soddy Daisy Area

An early morning fire burned a private dock and boat at the Soddy Daisy area.

Around 2:30 a.m., the Sequoyah Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported explosion at 2502 Stonesage Road. 

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office arrived on the scene and deputies reported a dock on fire.

Sequoyah units arrived and quickly went to work making access to the fire and establishing a water supply to the dock. During the initial assessment of the fire, it was found that the dock contained at least one boat..

Firefighters brought the fire under control and requested the Hamilton County Haz Mat Team to the scene to make a determination with fuel on board the watercraft.

It was determined that the fuel burned off during the fire and no further action was needed from the Haz Mat Team.

Hamilton County EMS and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office was on scene to assist.
Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department requested for the fire, but was cancelled. TWRA was notified of the fire since it occurred on the water.


Estimated total loss is around $60,000
