  • Tuesday, December 17, 2019

Chattanooga State’s Dinner of Firsts 2019 was another resounding success, according to officials. Net proceeds for the event totaled $65,000 with $29,000 going to the Tom Edd Wilson First in the Family Endowed Scholarship and $36,000 to the annual First in the Family Scholarship.

This eighth annual dinner event honored local community leader Sandra Brewer with Alan Cates serving as event chair. Those roasting Ms. Brewer included Sheila Boyington, Nicole Brown, Ron Harr, Alison Lebovitz, and Sandra’s daughters Christina Bonnell and Caitlyn Miller. Jed Mescon served as the master of ceremonies.

The evening began with an opening toast by co-hosts and evening sponsors Greg Vital, president and CEO of Independent HealthCare Properties & Morning Pointe and Jay Dale, market president of First Horizon.

Chattanooga State is grateful to its 41 corporate and individual table sponsors, the many individuals who reserved seats, and all those who made donations to the Tom Edd Wilson First in the Family Endowed Scholarship for their support of this annual fundraiser. Chattanooga State was also honored to have Brewer Media Group and the Chattanooga Times Free Press as its media sponsors. The beautiful floral arrangements were provided by Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist.

The event was supported by a group of volunteers that included Carly Brewer Hixson, Nicole Brown, Becky Copler, Stefanie Crowe, Duffy Franck, Linda Hisey, Stacy Lightfoot, Bobby Lusk, Juli-Ann Morgan, Reggie Piercy, Rick Thompson, Sybil Topel, and Edna Varner.
