The 535: When Red And Blue Is Missing White

  • Tuesday, December 17, 2019

(A poem about the deep political divide in Washington and beyond. The 5-3-5 refers to the 435 members of the House and 100 members of the Senate. Without a return to God, there is no reason to expect unity or any hope for this nation’s future.)

_________

The halls were filled
With pomp and pride
Two forces ruled
Each from their side

These 5-3-5
Such deep divide
As Red and Blue
Defined their stride

The Red marched here
The Blue o’er there
But never did paths
Combine to share

While each of them
Embraced their own
The White was gone
It seemed alone.

The Red or Blue
Gave them their pride
They ignored the White
As if it'd died

The 5-3-5
Had lost their way
The battle surged
Near every day

The battle fought
Was all that mattered
The house divided
The flag was tattered

It all seemed lost
As tempers flared
And lines were drawn
No lies were spared

While Truth may stumble
And Purity fall
Their color is White
And they call to all:

“Return to us
Make us your guide
Reject the calls
To feud and fight”

But will the Red
And Blue alike
Restore their house
And take heed to White?

When Truth and Purity
Do guide our hearts
It’s then Ol’ Glory
Won’t be torn apart.

“Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed.

A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart.” ??Matthew? ?12:25?

“I am the Truth...” Jesus

Footnote:
The colors of the American flag represent:
Red: Hardiness and Valor
Blue: Vigilance, Perseverance & Justice
White: Purity and Innocence
