Fire officials said it appears the weather was responsible for a fire at a home on Plaza Drive on Monday night.
Chattanooga firefighters were called to a house in the 1100 block around 10 p.m.
A couple was home at the time and it is believed lightning struck a back corner gutter.
When they went outside to walk their dog, they saw smoke and called 911.
CFD responded and extinguished flames in the eaves of the home.
There were no injuries. Fire officials stated that the homeowners were thankful for the quick work of crews on the scene.
