Marvin Madden said he left his car running in the Dollar General parking lot on Wilcox Boulevard as he ran into the store to get a drink. When he walked back outside (shockingly) he found that his car was gone. The theft was caught on the store camera. The video shows a dark-colored Chevy HHR pull up to the left side of the vehicle. You can see a black male exit from the back seat and get into the driver seat of the Madden vehicle, then drive out of the parking lot. The suspect was wearing a white shirt and had twisted dreadlocks.

An officer spotted a panhandler at the intersection of I-24 and E 23rd St. Vincent Taylor said he was homeless and in need of help. The officer told Mr. Taylor that he is not allowed to panhandle in Chattanooga because it is against the law. Mr. Taylor was told not to panhandle any more and he said he would not. Mr. Taylor said he would only be staying in the Chattanooga area for a short time.

An off-duty officer was at Dillard's at Hamilton Place when a shoplifting took place. Through video surveillance he was able to obtain suspect descriptions and a vehicle description of the suspects who stole 10 Coach handbags valued at $700 apiece. The officer sent these photos of two black females out citywide "in hopes to capture them or at the very least get the suspects identified so that warrants could be taken out." There are two identifiers on the suspect vehicle that the officer felt will make it easy to spot. There is a white Saints bumper sticker on the trunk and two large chips out of the paint on the trunk as well.

At the Publix on Snow Hill Road, a manager said a white female in her late 30s had been harassing customers for money. He said the woman kept coming in and out of the store refusing to leave. The woman finally left in a blue Honda CRV.

In a shoplifting at 2288 Gunbarrel Road, video showed the suspects took six pairs of Nike shoes and a pair of Lugz boots. Police had pictures of the suspects from security camera footage.

A resident of Davidson Road said she left home around 1:50 p.m.. As she was leaving she noticed a package was in her mailbox. When she returned around 3:45 p.m. the package was gone. She said her husband told her he had not checked the mail when he arrived home. She believes the package that was taken was quilt storage bag boxes.

An officer was dispatched to a disorder with a weapon at the Speedway at 1330 E. 3rd. St. Upon arrival, the officer met with Sherika King who was carrying a bow and arrow exiting the Mapco across the street. She said she was traveling to a nearby friend's house. The officer informed Ms. King "that it would be of her best interest to leave the property and keep the bow in her backpack."

An officer was flagged down on a shoplifting at 2727 Rossville Blvd. He was told that a black male wearing black shorts, a black shirt and a black fisherman's hat came into the store and grabbed two 12-packs of Heineken beer and then passed all points of sale. He walked towards the Hamilton Inn. A customer attempted to catch the suspect, causing him to drop one of the 12-pack of Heinekens before he disappeared from sight.

Police were in the area of 951 Eastgate Loop and found Michael Williams sleeping on the sidewalk in front of suite 400. Mr. Williams said he is homeless and normally sleeps in this area. The officer told Mr. Williams that he could not be sleeping there. He said he has another spot behind the Longhorn steakhouse that he stays at sometimes. He said he would go there. Mr. Williams said he stays on the street two weeks out of the month. The other two weeks he gets a hotel room with the money he receives from his monthly disability check

A Uber driver said he was unable to wake a female passenger. An officer was able to get her awake. The officer noted that she "was intoxicated." She said her boyfriend lived at the apartments where the driver had taken her, but she did not have a key and he was out of town. She said she could go to her parents' residence on Signal Mountain. Jail was the other option. The Uber driver said he would take her up the mountain.

A woman said she was inside her house on Dartmouth Street when her dog started barking. She then looked out the window to see that her car light was on and someone was inside the vehicle. She activated her car alarm startling the unknown suspect and causing him to drive off in a white Crown Vic. Police searched the area but could not find any vehicle matching that description. The woman said that inside her car was her wallet that had her passport, drivers license and credit and debit cards. Both cards were deactivated.

David Melton of Networks Inc. on Nowlin Lane said an unknown white male driving a silver Jeep Compass used his vehicle to destroy the front doors of the business. On arrival, an officer observed the front doors to be completely destroyed. There was also a large amount of trash lying in front of the doors. Mr. Melton provided video footage of the incident and it showed the silver Jeep Compass arrive and a white male exit the vehicle. He removed the doorbell camera from the building. He then used his vehicle to push the doors down. The white male then got back into the Jeep and left. Looking through the pile of trash, the officer located several letters addressed to a couple. The officer was able to locate the driver's license of the man whose name was on the mail and he closely resembles the suspect from the video. Also, the same man has a silver Jeep Compass registered to him.

An officer came upon a motorcycle that had been laid down purposefully or had been wrecked at the intersection of Rogers and Sunset roads. The unknown owner of the motorcycle had walked away or fled from the scene. Police were unable to locate any form of VIN number on the motorcycle and the tag did not match the motorcycle. Due to the suspicious nature of the incident the motorcycle was towed.

An officer was called to the parking lot of the Subway on Browns Ferry Road, where he located a man passed out in the parking lot. The man said he was on leave for the weekend from the Navy. He was checked for warrants and nothing was found. The officer transported the sailor to the state line where Dade County transported him to his parents' house in Trenton.

At a store at 703 Signal Mountain Road, the store manager said a black female came in and returned two thermometers using an old receipt for $65. The thermometers had been stolen from another store. Employees didn't notice that until it was too late.

A resident of Carver Lane said his wife left to get her nails done and took his keys. He said she did so to make him upset because she found out that he is messing around with another woman. The man said he would just wait outside his residence until the missus returned.

A woman on O'Rear Street said sometime overnight someone came to her house and took all four of her tires and wheels off of her BWM. She said she received a phone call from her sister asking why her car was lifted onto bricks. She said because she works 12-hour shifts she was not home during the time of the incident. She said she asked neighbors if they saw or heard anything, but no one had.

At Joy Baptist Tabernacle, 4208 N. Access Road, police spoke with the pastor, Phillip Shellabarger. He said sometime during the night someone threw some asphalt rocks at the glass exterior door on the east side of the church, cracking the glass. The rocks were lying at the bottom of the door on the outside. Rev. Shellabarger suspects some kids in the area probably did it but no suspect information was available. He estimated the cost to replace the door could be somewhere from $1,000 to $1,500.

An officer responded to a 4th Avenue address where the complainant on scene was upset that the gas truck driver was waving his gas measure stick at the pigeons that he was feeding bread to in the store parking lot. The complainant said he stops here once a week and feeds the pigeons and doesn't think it's right for them to wave items at the pigeons and make them fly away. The officer noted, "The truck drivers were just keeping the birds from flying around while they refilled the gas pumps due to their being bread all over the parking lot."
