A woman said she was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Alton Park Boulevard and W. 38th Street when a black male walked up to her window and started beating on it. The suspect shattered the glass and then opened the driver's side door. The woman said he then grabbed her cell phone that was sitting on her lap and stepped away from the vehicle. She said she then sped away. She said the suspect looked to be a younger male with a slender build. He had on a white T-shirt and a Cleveland Cavaliers hat. He was driving a smaller white vehicle. Police searched the area, but did not locate the suspect.

A woman said she met a black male in the parking lot of Publix grocery store on N. Market to sell a phone (Iphone 6S). She said while the suspect was inspecting the phone, he ran off on foot from the area. She said she had found the person to purchase the phone online.

A man said he was outside the EPB building when he went to sleep in his wheelchair. When he woke up someone had taken the charger from the wheelchair.

An officer was on patrol at Hamilton Place in the area of Greendale Way when he spotted a red Kia Optima with a young black male asleep. The vehicle matched the description of a stolen auto that was boloed earlier. The officer made contact with the driver briefly, before he turned the vehicle on and sped off, almost hitting the officer. Police lost sight of the vehicle as it sped around the corner of an apartment complex. According to one witness, the suspect jumped out on foot and ran into the 100 Building breezeway. A perimeter was set up and K9 was called out. K9 tracked to a possible location of an apartment, but could not be certain for 100 percent if the hit was for the suspect or dope. The officer contacted the magistrate's office to see about obtaining a warrant for the apartment unit but, due to the situation, he would not sign off on it. The vehicle was towed. Police said it had been the suspect vehicle of about 60 auto burglaries.

Benjamin Wade said he stopped by the Speedway gas station on Lee Highway. He left his vehicle running and doors unlocked as he walked inside the gas station to get some coffee. When he returned to his vehicle, he spotted it being driven down Lee Highway going south. He said there was a blue Jeep following behind his silver vehicle when it left the gas station parking lot.

A resident of Mountain View Avenue said sometime during the night, someone entered his 2006 Jeep Commander and stole his state championship ring from the center console. He said the ring is made of steel, is silver in color, and has a raised black stone with the shape of Tennessee on it with three small diamonds on the Tennessee. He said the ring has his full name engraved on the inside.

A woman who lives on Tremont Street said sometime during the night, a thief entered her 2014 Toyota 4Runner and stole three pair of sunglasses. Two of the sunglasses were worth $150 each, while the third was worth $250.

An official of Disney Learning Center on Hancock Road said that during the night a burglar tried to break into the building. He said the front door is dented, a side window is broken and there is other damage to the building. He estimates that the repairs will cost $5,000.

Police responded on a shoplifting at the T.J. Maxx at 2200 Hamilton Place Blvd. A manager said he observed an unknown black male walk into the store, grab an arm full of clothes, run past all points of sale, and run out the door. The suspect stole $1,705 worth of merchandise. Less than five hours later, the same thief hit the same store in exactly the same manner. This time he got away with $1,200 worth of merchandise. Police said there was a third incident involving the same thief.

A resident of Moore Street said she ordered a TV from Walmart. She received a message stating it had been delivered that morning, but when she arrived home, it was not there.

A resident of E. Main Street said her 2016 Hyundai Tucson was parked on the side of the street. She said during the night, someone used a concrete block to break into her vehicle. In the process the door was bent, window shattered and on the inside, the glove box was ripped open and the fuse panel was damaged. She believes the damage to the vehicle is well over $2,000. She said there was nothing stolen, as she does not leave anything of value in her vehicle.

A woman said in April of this year, she had a car crash which totaled her Kia. She said the vehicle was towed to an unknown location by a district wrecker. She said recently she received a citation in the mail for a traffic violation picturing a red pickup with the license plate from her Kia.

A woman said she was sitting in her Ford Mustang in the parking lot at 1816 Gunbarrel Road waiting for an appointment. Her vehicle has dark tinted windows and the engine was running. A maroon Kia Optima pulled up next to her car and a black male with dread locks stepped out of the car and pulled on the door handle of her vehicle multiple times. Police said there has been an elevated number of vehicles being stolen in the Chattanooga area and, due to the fact that the suspect would have had a hard time seeing if someone was sitting in the driver's seat and that the vehicle was running, police believe that the suspect was attempting to steal the vehicle. When the male noticed that a woman was sitting in the driver's seat he got back into the Optima and quickly fled the area.

At JC Penny at Hamilton Place, a manager saw two black females enter the store, take items of clothing off the shelves, walk pass all points of sale, and exit the side door before getting into their vehicles and leaving. The suspects stole $486 worth of merchandise from the store.

In still another shoplifting at Hamilton Place, police spoke with an employee who witnessed two black males and a light-colored female take a Go Pro with accessories and shoes. The female clerk attempted to stop all the people involved but was unable. All three of the theft suspects also took the shopping baskets that they was using in the store with them on the way out. The three suspects exited the store and got into a black car, possibly a Chevrolet Impala, and left the area before police arrival.

A clerk at a store on Hamill Road said a customer gave him a $50 bill. When he swiped his pen over it, it indicated that it was fake. The customer then left the building. After the officer observed the bill, he noticed it said on one side, "Motion picture use only."
