Wanda L. Griffith, age 76, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday morning, March 8, 2018, at the family residence.

Wanda was the daughter of the late Leona Davis Gore and W. C. Gore. Her son, Robert V. Griffith, Jr. and her sister, Marie Carter also preceded her in death.

Wanda was a graduate of Lee Academy. She received her Bachelors of Arts Degree from Tennessee Wesleyan in Athens, Tennessee and she received her Masters Degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She worked for the Church of God most of her life. In 1961, she was employed as Registrar at Lee University and served 29 years. She worked for the Church of God Publishing House and Pathway Press and served for 17 years. Wanda was an author with 8 books and numerous articles to her credit. She was editor of GOOD NEWS Magazine here in Cleveland. She also served as editor for two companies in New York for four years. She was guest speaker in numerous English and Business classes at Lee University. She was also an International conference speaker and singer. She sang in the Lee College (Lee University), Faculty-Staff Trio with Ulna Black and Evaline Echols for 40 years. Wanda was a Charter Member of the Westmore Church of God where she was a member of the Sanctuary Choir.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Robert V. "Bob" Griffith, Sr. of Cleveland, her son, Michael Claudio and his wife Debbie , her daughter in law, Martha Griffith, her grandchildren, Robert V. Griffith, III, Jennifer Griffith, Emma Claudio, Hannah Claudio and Daniel Claudio, her sisters and brother, Billie Jones, Evaline Echols, Carolyn McElroy, W. C. Gore, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, March 10, at 1 p.m. at the Westmore Church of God with Pastor Kelvin Page, Dr. Henry Smith, Dr. Dan Black, Ray Hughes Jr., Ulna Black and Mike Claudio officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Vance Griffith, Daniel Claudio, Drew Echols, Darren Echols, James Hagler and Ray Jones serving as casket bearers. The family request that Memorials be made to the Griffith Scholarship Fund at Lee University. Checks may be written and sent to Central Gifts, P. O. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Westmore Church of God.
