Senator Bob Corker on Tuesday released the following statement on the resignation of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley:

“Nikki Haley has been a fierce advocate for U.S. interests during her time as U.N. ambassador,” said Corker.

“While I hated to hear of her departure, I have enjoyed working with her and am thankful for her willingness to serve. I know Nikki will continue to be a strong voice for our country and wish her well in whatever comes next.”

As chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Corker said he shepherded Ms. Haley through the Senate confirmation process and has worked closely with her during her tenure at the United Nations. Ms. Haley was confirmed by the Senate by a vote of 96 to 4 in January 2017.
