Plans are underway for St.Elmo’s very first Incline Art Crawl, Oct. 14-15. The bi-annual crawl will "POP-UP" around the horse-shoe-shaped streets surrounding the lower Incline station at W40th and Old Mountain Road - a unique location for its visibility at a highly-visited tourist attraction, and setting for a fall art exhibit where locals and tourists can linger longer and circulate throughout the pedestrian-friendly business district.
The crawl will feature emerging and established artists from a variety of media: hand-maker, basket-weaver, folk painter, furniture maker, upcycler, designer, fashionista, installation, sound, performative and more.
Neighbors, artists and businesses are invited to get involved. Artists must submit work by Oct. 1.
The Incline Art Crawl will benefit the community by integrating all that speaks to the soul of diverse Appalachian urban culture: its history and its dynamic presence, said officials.
For those attending the show, bike or park your car in paid Incline parking or free Food City lot and walk via the stairway between Mojo Burrito and Mr. T’s.
