Longtime Business Owner Retired From T.C. Thompson's Children's Hospital

Betty Carol Strozak, 79, passed at Memorial Hospital on Monday, August 8, 2017.

Betty was the daughter of the late Earl and Dossie Campbell. Betty was preceded in death also by her husband Daniel James Strozak and daughter Carol Marie (Strozak) Bales. Betty had a “no quit” attitude. She was kind, loving, and an inspirational mother of six. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to dance, read, swim and most of all laugh. Her infectious enthusiasm for life will be missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting/knowing her.

Betty was born in Choctaw County, Ms., and attended the “W” (Mississippi University for Women) in Columbus, Ms. She relocated to Chattanooga with her parents where she met Dan. Betty worked many years to make their business, Cleveland Communications and Radio, a success while at the same time raising children. After selling the business, she went back to college and completed her Bachelor of Science studies at the University of Chattanooga where she received her Medical Technologist degree. She retired from Erlanger’s T.C. Thompson’s Childrens Hospital.

Betty Strozak is survived by her sons: Mark Daniel Strozak, Matthew James Strozak, David Michael Strozak (Kelly Paulk), Douglas Paul Strozak and his wife Nina Strozak, William Alexander Strozak. Her nine grandchildren: Tate Geren (Kristin), Cole Geren (Elizabeth), Seth Bales, Morgan Strozak (Jason McCroskey), Mattie Strozak, Bowie Strozak, Lucas Strozak, Hunter Strozak and two great-grandchildren (Jackson and Deacon Geren).

Mass will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415. Graveside service to be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home (North Chapel). After the service family and friends are invited for lunch, at a place to be announced.
