Southern Bend Yoga Festival Is Sept. 30

Southern Bend Foundation announces Southern Bend Yoga Festival 2017 will take place on Sept. 30 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.  in Coolidge Park. Southern Bend Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2016, aimed at uniting the Chattanooga community in joyful celebration through mindful movement.  

Southern Bend Yoga Festival is for the young and the old, the advanced yogi, and those who have never stepped onto a yoga mat before. Early Bird Tickets are available until Aug. 21 for $60, general admission $75, day of $85, and children under 12 are free. Tickets offer attendees access to four of the following sessions.

THIRD EYE CENTER – Bend in Unity with hundreds of other yogis as you are guided by renowned yoga instructors encompassing a range of yoga styles and personal tastes: Ashley Turner headlines the festival leading an innovative fusion of yoga, depth psychology, mindfulness and neuroscience, in a transformative event. During the day Third Eye Center will feature: Power/Ashtanga Yoga with Gillian St Claire (of Nashville), Vinyassa for Visionaries with Jessica Jollie and music by Presence Project, and Dynamic Yoga Play with Jill Knouse. 

SOUL BASE – Take time to slow it down with some of the brightest stars out there. Enjoy Meditations in Yin accompanied by aromatherapy and sound healing with Jennifer Blair, Urban Priestess to awaken sensuality and sacred sexuality with Ashley Turner, Healthy Eating with Ashley McAdoo, Restorative Yoga Nidra blend with Heather and Marcus James, Passion Vinyassa Flow with Madia Swicord, and Balancing Chakras with Sara Mingus, Amanda Carmichael, and Lori Love. 

HEALING CENTER – Focus on your health and wellbeing with focused guidance from illuminated guides. Join Ashley Turner in Foundations of Yoga Psychology, Primary Ashtanga with Hillary Libby, find your Blue Zone and learn how to live to be 100 with Jessica Jollie, and Neuro-body rejuvenation with Dr. Matt Smith. 

WATER WALK - Take your balance for a ride on a paddleboard for SUP classes with Haley Mills and Hayley Graham. Restorative Yoga with Katya Smith. Tai Chi flow with Dr. Guo. 

AERIAL – Come flip and fly with Rebecca Balch – no experience necessary. 

SLACKLINE – Balance and fall with Edward Yates and Aron Aldrich. 

ACROYOGA – Fly with Gillian St Claire and Kendal Beene. Balance with Kyle House.  

OPEN SPACE – Athletic Recovery with Kimber Keplinger, Back Bending for Joy with Kendal Beene, Nutrition for all bodies with Maite Bao, and Power Flow with Kathryn Smith. 

Southern Bend directly supports the Children’s Organ Transplant Association. In 2016 the organization donated $8,350 directly to a Chattanooga based family and hope to donate over $10,000 in 2017.
