Betty Jo Morrison Blankenship, 80, of Whitwell, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017.  

Mrs. Blankenship was a member of the Church of Christ at Whitwell and a retired nurse's assistant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester & Iva Smith; sisters, Alberta Griffith, Patsy Carrick, Gloria Ann Walker, Faye Dent Hoosier, Bonnie Watts; brothers, Albert (Snook) Smith, O.B. Smith; infant granddaughter, Amanda Morrison. 

She is survived by four children, Dennis Ray Morrison, Stuart (Donna) Morrison, Michael (Patty) Morrison, Ingrid (Steve) Long; first husband, Thomas Ray Morrison; sister, Robena (Patrick) Tate all of Whitwell; brother, Billy (Barbara) Smith of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Raven Johns, Jason (Donna) Morrison, Barrett (Kirsten) Long, Jacob (Destiny) Long; great-grandchildren, Clay Johns, Kendall Johns, Kasen Long, Jasic Long; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends; special friend, Willie Blankenship. 

Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, and 9-11 a.m. on Friday, June 2. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 2, in the funeral home chapel with Minister Adam Boggess officiating. Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery.
