Starting Monday, Chattanooga Women’s LeadershipInstitute (CWLI) is accepting applications and nominations for the 2017 Women Mentoring Women program. The mentorship training program is an eight-session professional development series that teaches female participants how to mentor and develop other women who are in community and business leadership roles. The deadline to apply is June 26. Applications and nominations forms are available online at www.cwli.org.
Women Mentoring Women is in its ninth year of programming and has graduated 138 women into the community. The series takes place over an extended working lunch and includes the following training topics: Professional Communication, Teambuilding, Corporate Culture, Closing the Generation Gap, Personal Branding, Authentic Power, StrengthsFinder and Mentoring for Personal Development.
“The goal of the Women Mentoring Women program is to teach current women leaders how to effectively mentor other women who are seeking to take on community, business and political leadership roles,” said Traci Day, Chair of the CWLI Women Mentoring Women Committee who has 15+ years of experience as a talent development and leadership consultant. “CWLI is working to develop a leadership pipeline of women in Chattanooga since there are a disproportionate number in leadership roles today, and developing tomorrow’s leaders through mentorship is a strategy that works.”
Workshop dates are Aug. 25, Sept. 8 and 22, Oct. 6 and 20, Nov. 3 and 17, and Dec. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All classes are held at Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, located at 605 Chestnut Street in Chattanooga. The program is $450 and includes lunch and all materials. Limited scholarships are available.
Sessions are taught by professional leadership consultants and coaches from the Greater Chattanooga Area, all of which are CWLI members who volunteer their services in support of women. Volunteer presenters include Marj Flemming and Ronna-Renee Jackson, LaunchPoint Leadership; Carol Newton, Memorial Healthcare Systems; Ella Clark, The Clark Group; Merri Mai Williamson, Application Researchers; Leonora Williamson, India Hicks; Tangela Johnson, North Georgia Corporate Consulting; and Dr. Vicki Petzko. Special thanks to in-kind sponsor Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel.
