John Eldridge
John Paul Eldridge, 77, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 28, 2017 after a three-month battle with cancer.
John was born in Charleston, Tn., to the late John C. and Mary Jane Clayton Eldridge. He was a retired Captain with the Chattanooga Fire Department where he served for 31 years. He was also a U.S. Army Reserve veteran, and a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Don and Stanley Eldridge.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Juanita Eldridge; son, Jeff (Renee) Eldridge of Ooltewah; daughters, Angie (Scott) Bevil of Atlanta, and Terena (Billy) Waters of Chattanooga; grandsons, Cody and Chase Bevil, Tyler and Bryce Waters; stepgranddaughter, Naomi Dedmon; sister, Betty Humberd of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Virgie Eldridge of Chattanooga; and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, May 6, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Bill Owens officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Reverend Doug Plumlee officiating.
