Pickett, Ernestine (South Pittsburg)

Ernestine Pickett, 62, of South Pittsburgh, Tennessee, died on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Erlanger Hospital due to a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Pickett;mother, Christine Elliott; and father, Willie Robinson.
Ernestine was a very kind, loving and spiritual woman who attended church frequently. She was also an avid gardener with a true "green" thumb, who enjoyed her plants. She also truly loved her family and friends, and constantly concerned herself with their well-being.
She is survived by her brothers, Charles Elliott (Scottsboro, AL), Louis "Tap" Kelly (Scottsboro, AL) Howard Kelly (Louisville, KY); sisters, Mamie Kelly (Scottsboro, AL) Betty Kelly (Chattanooga),  Gloria Kelly (Chattanooga) and Edna Kelly (Chattanooga); grandchildren, Jaylen Pickett (Chattanooga),  Jordan Pickett (Ft. Olgethorpe, GA), Jade Remmel (Kennesaw, GA), Halle and Nicholas Robinson (Detroit, MI); great-aunt Mary Kelly (South Pittsburg, TN); and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 19, from 1-2 p.m., with the funeral commencing at 2 p.m. The Rev. Miles Bivins will be officiating the ceremony. Ernestine and George will be interned together at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date to be determined.
The Pickett family sincerely thanks each and every one of you for your prayers and your involvement in sending Ernestine home to be with The Lord.
