TechTown Foundation will join the Innovation District and move to the second floor of the Edney Building in the spring of 2017.

“TechTown’s move to the Edney Building places our young TechTown learners directly in the heart of Chattanooga's Innovation District, increasing their creativity, innovation and access to opportunity because we've created a space for startups, students and ideas to collide," said Mayor Andy Berke. "TechTown will be a valuable addition to the Innovation District and another resource as Chattanooga works to create the pipelines necessary for a talented, curious and skilled workforce."

Additionally, TechTown welcomes Chris Ramsey as CEO. Mr. Ramsey will lead the organization with a focus on building partnerships that encourage regional youth to pursue learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

“Chris Ramsey brings a wealth of knowledge and community relationships to TechTown as our organization’s director,” said TechTown board president, Mike Harrell. “His strong community ties, record of leadership and dedication to improving education for our children are just a few of the reasons that Chris is the right person to lead the organization as we connect students with technology.”

Mr. Ramsey was appointed to the position after Cordell Carter stepped down to pursue other opportunities.

In July 2016, Mr. Ramsey joined the TechTown team as a consultant to help the organization focus its growth and impact strategy. Prior to this position, Mr. Ramsey was the chief strategy officer at Yesmar Strategy & Consulting and the president of the Southeast Tennessee Health Consortium Foundation. For more than 20 years, he held positions at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, including director of the office of health care reform and vendor management and contractor.

Mr. Ramsey’s extensive volunteer activities include service on the boards of directors for the Boys and Girls Club, UC Foundation, Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga and other organizations. He received the Tennessee Public Health Association’s TPHA Visionary Award in 2013 and graduated from Leadership Chattanooga in 1998. He holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Austin Peay State University.
