Betty Davis Hickman, 84, of Georgetown, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017.
 
A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she was retired from the Siskin Foundation and from DuPont. 
 
She was a member of the New Union Baptist Church and was active in the Berry Bible Study.  She was also a member of the Lake Vista Garden Club, where she loved her ladies.  She loved gardening and defiantly had a green thumb.
 
She was the wife of the late Glenn D. Hickman and the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Davis, and was also preceded in death by her siblings, Gladys Clarke, Jimmie Ruth Brasher, Josette Moundzouris and Benjamin William Davis Jr.
 
Survivors include her son, David (Melissa) Hickman; daughter, Glenda (Ted) Lieker; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Douglas, Beth, Forrest and Benjamin; three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Rex) Chitty.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Jenkins officiating.  Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. 
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or to the New Union Baptist Church.
 
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
