A Chattanooga man has been arrested for selling drugs out of an East Ridge motel.

Lonnie Lavone Boyd, 35, of 1807 Citico Ave., was charged with meth, marijuana and cocaine as well as possession a firearm in connection with the commission of a felony.

On Sunday at 9:50 p.m., an East Ridge officer checked out a vehicle outside the Waverly Motel at 1503 McDonald Road. There was a front seat passenger and a back seat passenger.

Brunson said he was there to retrieve a phone charger for Davis.

Police said Brunson then admitted he was there to purchase drugs from a man named "Black." He reached into his pocket and handed over four grams of meth.

Police said Boyd and Amanda Thomas exited Room 108. Boyd maintained that he had not sold meth to Brunson, but that Brunson sold it to him. Afterward, Boyd did admit selling drugs, saying he had done so to support his addiction.

A bag containing 15 packets of marijuana was found in his underwear. Each packet had 10 grams. The bag also contained of 1.2 grams of cocaine and of .5 grams of heroin. Ms. Thomas turned over a bag with 53.1 grams of meth. Police found $560 in cash in the room.

Officers also located a loaded .22 caliber American Arms pistol in Boyd's pocket. It was loaded with three live rounds and a spent shelling casing.
