BlueCross Names Mike Wynne Director Of Medicaid Compliance

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has promoted Mike Wynne to director of Medicaid compliance and state compliance officer. In this role, Mr. Wynne will be responsible for overseeing regulatory issues regarding TennCare.

Mr. Wynne has served as the Medicaid compliance officer since 2007, developing that role as a new position. He is the key Medicaid contact with the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance where he has nurtured effective relationships and established himself and BlueCross as trusted and valuable partners. 

“As BlueCare Tennessee’s business continues to expand and diversify, Mike’s interactions with the state have become increasingly important,” said Julie Boerger, vice president and chief compliance officer for BlueCross.  “These relationships have enabled Mike to proactively diffuse and resolve potential compliance issues that ensure we’re not only meeting but exceeding our obligations to regulations and ethical business practices.

He is a very valuable asset to the enterprise.”

Mr. Wynne began working for BlueCross 20 years ago in claims and customer service, with his last 15 years of service in compliance.  He chairs the BlueCare Tennessee Compliance Oversight Committee and is tasked with providing oversight regarding  new and existing regulatory requirements that relate to BlueCare Tennessee products.

Mr. Wynne graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a certified compliance and ethics professional through the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.
