Man, 26, Shot Multiple Times at Wheeler Homes; He Later Dies; Person Of Interest Detained

A 26-year-old man was shot multiple times at the Wheeler Homes on Tuesday afternoon. He later died.

Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department's Violent Crimes Bureau have taken out warrants for criminal homicide on Tavoraus Thompson, 24, for the murder of Orlandas Gay.  

Additionally, Judius Antonio Thompson, the individual who got into a physical altercation with Gay, has been arrested and charged with criminal responsibility for facilitation of a felony.

Chattanooga Police responded at 5:25 p.m. to the 4900 block of Jeffery Lane on multiple reports of shots fired. There police located one victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police secured the area and began locating witnesses.

The victim was in a disorder which turned into a physical altercation. He was shot multiple times during the altercation.

Hamilton County EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died.
