Chattanooga FC announced on Wednesday that they will host a second round match of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup on Wednesday, May 18th at 7:30 pm. CFC will welcome the winner of the first round match up between the Atlanta Silverbacks Reserves and Reading United AC who play the week before.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to showcase the longest running cup tournament in the US right here in the Scenic City,” said Sean McDaniel, General Manager for Chattanooga FC, “the tournament is a high profile event, and having a match at Finley Stadium demonstrates not only how important soccer is to the city of Chattanooga, but how important the city is to soccer.
Giving our fans an extra match at the beginning of the season is just icing on the cake.”

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is recognized as U.S. Soccer's National Club Championship and is an annual knockout competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation, from amateur adult club teams to the professional clubs of Major League Soccer. The tournament has crowned a champion for 101 consecutive years dating from 1914.
Chattanooga FC is a member team of the National Premier Soccer League, Southeast Region. The NPSL is sanctioned by the USASA as an affiliate of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), and FIFA, the world’s governing body for soccer.
