Girl, 19, Shot And Killed On Lewis Street As Bullet Goes Through A Wall

A 19-year-old female was shot and killed on Lewis Street early Tuesday afternoon by a bullet that went through a wall.

Police said Aaron J. Randal, 22, was being sought in the slaying of Carly Ellis.

Chattanooga Police responded to the 1200 block of Lewis Street at 1:10 p.m. on the report of a person shot. There police located one victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the neck.

The suspect discharged a weapon in a room adjacent to the victim's location.

The victim was struck in the neck by a bullet which came through a wall.

Hamilton County EMS treated the victim on the scene, then transported her to a local hospital.

The victim succumbed to her injuries.

Chattanooga Violent Crimes Investigators detained and interviewed the suspect.

Chattanooga Violent Crimes Investigators were consulting with the Hamilton County District Attorney to determine if charges will be filed.
