Dr. Ronda Ford
The Lee University School of Music will present Dr. Ronda Ford, flute, and Bill Pritchard, tuba, in a faculty recital on Monday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Squires Recital Hall.
The program will include “Sheep May Safely Graze” and “Orchestral Suite No. 2” by Johann Sebastian Bach, “The Giraffe and the Bear, Op. 165” by David Uber, and “Blackbird” by Paul McCartney, among others.
Dr. Ford is currently an adjunct instructor of music theory at Lee and is an active National Flute Association flutist, teacher and pedagogy committee member. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in flute performance and pedagogy from the University of Southern Mississippi, her Master of Music degree in flute performance from Illinois State University, and her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Central Arkansas.
Dr. Ford has performed with The International Flute Orchestra in Prague, Hungary, Slovenia and Italy. She has taught courses at Western State Colorado University, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, National American University, and Parkland College, among others.
Mr. Pritchard, having been described as a “dedicated teacher of his craft,” gives private lessons and master classes on euphonium and trombone, in addition to teaching low brass at Lee. He received his Master of Arts degree in classical performance from the Eastman School of Music and his Bachelor of Arts degree in music management from William Paterson University.
Mr. Pritchard currently plays tuba with the Midtown Brass Quintet, the Georgia Brass Band, the New Atlanta Philharmonic, the John’s Creek Symphony Orchestra and the Ludwig Symphony. He has performed with the Alabama, Columbus, Macon, Cobb and Hilton Head symphonies, the Savannah Philharmonic, the Atlanta Brass Society, the Atlanta Ballet and the Peachtree Brass.
