Doris Leona Atterton, age 88, of Whitwell, Tennessee, died on Friday, February 26, 2016 at her home.
She was a member of Cartwright Church of God, and was a foster parent for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George "Tom" Atterton; son, Michael McGowan; one brother; four sisters. She is survived by daughters, Doris (Gene) Bradford, Dunlap, and Debby (Ray) Bunn, Dayton; sons, Jackie McGowan, Whitwell, Kelly (Cathy) Cox, Waskom, TX, Dennis Atterton, Dunlap, and Danny (Gloria) Atterton, Whitwell; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 29, at 11 a.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Donnie Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Kilgore Cemetery.
