First Tennessee Names Harshad Shah To Advisory Board

First Tennessee Bank named community leader Harshad Shah to the advisory board of directors.  

Mr., Shah is the president of Hamilton Plastics, a Chattanooga-based company that provides plastic products to the food, industrial and medical industries.  Under Mr. Shah’s direction, the company has shown 30 years of steady growth. 

Mr. Shah immigrated to the United States from India in 1974 to attend Northeastern Illinois University.  After completing a degree in chemistry, he gained experience as a researcher and later, as a product developer.

Along with his business experience, Mr. Shah has been a member of many boards and civic organizations in Chattanooga, including ArtsBuild, Baylor School, Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, Community Foundation, Chattanooga Rotary Club, the YMCA, and, Chattanooga State Community College.  Mr. Shah also serves as founder and trustee for Gujarati Samaj of East Tennessee.

Mr. Shah and his wife Ulka, have three grown children and five grandchildren.
