Chattanooga firefighters responded to a fire in a one-story office building shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday at 1384 Gunbarrel Road.
Captain Andre Dean with Quint 21 said flames were visible when the first firefighters arrived. While the firefighters who arrived first worked to get the blaze under control at the front of the building, other firefighters forced their way in on the side of the building to make sure the fire had not spread, and to also make sure no one was inside.
After conducting primary and secondary searches, no one was found inside.

Captain Dean said the fire was contained to the office where it started. The adjacent offices were saved, but they did have some smoke damage. An estimate on the dollar loss was not available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
