West Star Aviation announced the expansion details for the Chattanooga location. The expansion is set for completion during the fourth quarter of 2017.
The expansion will consist of a new maintenance hangar with over 65,300 square feet incorporating 40,000 square feet of hangar and 25,300 square feet of office and support space. Additionally, the expansion will include a state-of-the-art paint facility with 41,519 square feet consisting of crossdraft prep bay, downdraft paint bay, office and support space.
"This expansion is going to give us the chance to offer one-stop maintenance, paint, avionics and interior refurbishment conveniently to our Eastern territory clients. Our plan is to break ground in the fourth quarter of 2016," said Tom Hilboldt, general manager (CHA), West Star Aviation.
The paint facility will feature the same environmentally friendly technology and engineering as the recently completed facility at West Star's Grand Junction location. This new state-of-the-art facility can perform high-quality aircraft exterior paint for most corporate aircraft. Additionally, the facility can accommodate aircraft of all sizes from the smallest up to a Global 7000, F900, Hawker 900, Citation 10/750, Embraer 650, or Gulfstream 650.
Tectonic Management Group, Inc. in Denver has been designated as the Design Build Contractor. Also working on this project is Allen & Hoshall providing the civil engineering services and site work in Chattanooga and Brady Engineering from Washington, Mo., for mechanical and plumbing design.
