Woman Shot On North Chamberlain Avenue Sunday Afternoon

A woman was shot on Sunday afternoon.

Earlier Sunday afternoon, Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot on Chamberlain Avenue.

 The victim advised that she was walking in the 1200 block of Chamberlain Avenue, when she heard what she thought was a firecracker. The victim discovered that she had been shot and flagged down a motorist who transported her to a local hospital. The victim's injuries are non-life threatening at this time. 

 There is no suspect description or suspect vehicle information. Police have canvased the area in order to locate evidence of the shooting. 

 Investigators with the Violent Crimes Bureau are following all leads at this time. Police are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Chattanooga Police Department. A person can remain anonymous.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423 698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
