Man, 27, Killed While Walking Along I-75 Near Catoosa/Whitfield Line

A 27-year-old man was killed Saturday morning while walking along I-75 southbound near the Catoosa//Walker line.

He was identified as Michael Nease of Kennesaw, Ga.

Charges were pending against the driver of the car that veered off the freeway and struck him - Jordan Shelton.

The Georgia State Patrol said it did not know why the victim was walking along the interstate or why the car suddenly went off the roadway and struck him.

The incident caused a lengthy traffic tie-up on southbound I-75 as the accident was being investigated.j
