Larry Walker Sr., 73, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the family residence surrounded by his family and friends.
Larry was the son of the late Betty Lou Killion Walker and Leo Robert Walker. Larry was a U. S. Air Force Veteran serving five tours of duty in Vietnam working as a mechanic. He was retired from Allied Signal – Bendix – Honeywell as a Millwright with many years of service. Larry also served as a volunteer Computer Teacher at Cleveland Christian School with 15 years of service. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and he was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association #208 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Larry was an Ordained Minister and attended the Cleveland Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Carolyn S. Walker of Cleveland; his children, Perry D. Walker and his wife Cindy, Tom D. Walker and his wife Phaedra, Joe L. Walker and his wife Gina, Larry L. Walker II, Terry H. Vaughn, Chuck Curtis all of Cleveland and Lisa C. Walker of Washington, IN; his grandchildren, Stephanie O’Harra and her husband Shawn, Brittany Neel and her husband James, Perry D. Walker II, Jonathan H. Walker, Makayla Walker, Ethan Walker, Adrienne Walker, Amber Scroggins, Josh Walker, Christina Walker, Larry L. Walker III all of Cleveland; his great-grandchildren, Bryson A. O’Harra, Alexia M. O’Harra, Addalynn L. Walker, Taelyn A. Walker and Alyssa L. Neel; his sisters, Sharon S. Walker, Connie l. Fields and her husband Bruce; his brother, Gary R. Walker and his wife Kathy all of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday, Jan. 11, at 12 p.m. from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Ricky Vaughn officiating. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday from the U. S. National Cemetery in Chattanooga with Shawn O’Harra, James Neel, Bryson O’Harra, Ethan Walker, Larry Walker III, Jon Walker, Perry Dale Walker II and Josh Walker serving as casket bearers. Military Honors will be given.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10 at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
