Many Schools Including Hamilton County Closing Wednesday Due To Expected Wintry Weather; Many Courts And Clerks Offices Closed

Hamilton County Schools, along with many other local and area schools, will be closed Wednesday due to the expected wintry weather. UTC and Chattanooga State will also be closed as well as McCallie and GPS.

Judges Barry Steelman and Gary Starnes said the Criminal Court, General Sessions Court, Circuit Court and Chancery Court will be closed on Wednesday along with the clerks offices.

Those who had cases are told to call the clerk's office when they reopen to reschedule.

Circuit Court Clerk Larry Henry said the Circuit Court Clerk's office and the Civil Division of General Sessions Court will be closed.

Mayor Andy Berke said Tuesday night, "A wintry mix of precipitation is expected in Chattanooga Wednesday morning beginning around 9 a.m. and ending in the afternoon.

"The City's Public Works crews have been applying brine to primary roads, high elevations, and emergency response locations today in preparation."

Athens City Schools will be closed.

Bachman Academy will be closed.

Baylor School will be closed.

Belvoir Christian Academy will be closed.

Bledsoe County Schools will be closed.

Bradley County and Cleveland City Schools will be closed. Government offices will operate on a normal schedule. 12-month employees will work 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Brainerd Baptist School will be closed.

Bright School will be closed.

Calhoun City Schools will be closed.

Chattanooga Area Food Bank will be closed.

Chattanooga Christian School will be closed.

Chattanooga Girls Leadership Acacemy will be closed. Staff report at 8 a.m.

Chattanooga State will be closed.

Chickamauga City Schools will be closed.

Church of the Highlands, Harrison, will be closed. 

Cleveland City Schools will be closed.

Cleveland State Community College will be closed.

Collegedale Academy will be closed.

Dade County Schools will be closed.

Dalton Public Schools will be closed.

Dayton City Schools will be closed.

Etowah Schools will be closed.

Fairview Christian Academy will be closed.

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is closing its Whitfield Murray Campus at 10 a.m. Wednesday. All other campuses will close at 11 a.m.

Girls Preparatory School will be closed.

Gordon County Schools will be closed.

Hamilton County Schools will be closed. School Age Child Care will also be closed. Central Office employees should report pending road conditions. 

Hickory Valley Christian will be closed.

Jackson County Schools will be on a three-hour delay.

Marion County Schools will be closed.

McCallie School will be closed.

McMinn County Schools will be closed.

Meigs County Schools will be closed.

Monroe County Schools will be closed.

Murray County, GA Schools will be closed.

Notre Dame High School will be closed.

Polk County Schools will be closed.

Rhea County Schools will be closed.

Sequatchie County Schools will be closed.

UTC will be closed.

Walker County Transit will close. 

All Walker County Government offices were closing around 11 a.m.

Whitfield County Schools will be closed.
