TDOT Planning To Widen Bonny Oaks Drive; Add Multi-Use Path

  • Monday, January 11, 2016

The Tennessee Department of Transportation is making plans to widen Bonny Oaks Drive and add a multi-use path along much of the widened route.

The project stretches from I-75 to beyond where Bonny Oaks Drive goes under Highway 153. It extends to the intersection at State Route 17 at Benton Drive.

A highway design meeting is set for Jan. 21 from 5-7 p.m. at 4005 Cromwell Road.

There will be a presentation followed by a question and answer session.

The public is invited to ask questions and make comments during the meeting.

The project proposes to widen the existing two-lane road to five lanes with curb, gutter, and sidewalk.

The shared-use path would go from the start of the project at Benton Drive to Silverdale Road.

Officials said all the widening will be along the existing route.

Officials will outline the proposed right of way acquisition.
