  • Tuesday, September 8, 2015

City Councilman Moses Freeman said Tuesday that workers citywide in Chattanooga need the protection of a minimum wage.

He did not specify an amount.

Council members Chris Anderson and Jerry Mitchell said they would go along with the idea.

The federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour.

Birmingham recently set a $10.10 minimum wage by 2017.

Seattle pegged it at $15 by 2020, as well as San Francisco by 2018, and Los Angeles by 2020.
