Man, 55, Shot While Leaving Apartment On E. 28th Street

A 55-year-old Chattanooga man was shot Sunday night while leaving an apartment on E. 28th Street.

At approximately 10:41 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a local hospital on reports of an individual suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The victim, Ernest Smith, had arrived at the hospital via personal vehicle and reported he had been shot while leaving an apartment near the 2000 block of East 28th Street. 

 He was unable to provide suspect information. 

A canvass of the area was conducted, but no crime scene was located.
