More than 2,500 athletes are registered to compete Sunday in the 2015 Little Debbie IRONMAN Chattanooga triathlon presented by McKee a Family Bakery, which features the city of Chattanooga and its surrounding scenic areas.

One of more than 40 events in the global IRONMAN Series, the 2015 Little Debbie IRONMAN Chattanooga triathlon presented by McKee a Family Bakery leads athletes along a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run throughout Chattanooga and its surrounding areas. The swim takes place in the Tennessee River, while the two-loop bike course winds through North Georgia with scenic farmland and mountain views. Athletes then enjoy a two-and-a-half-loop run course that showcases beautiful downtown Chattanooga, the South Side, Riverview and the North Shore. The event offers a total professional prize purse of $100,000 and 50 age-group qualifying slots to the 2016 IRONMAN World Championship, taking place on Oct. 8 in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i.
The 2014 Little Debbie IRONMAN Chattanooga Triathlon to Benefit Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America winning times were Matt Hanson (USA), 8:12:32 and Angela Naeth (CAN), 8:54:5.
The race begins Sunday at 7:20 a.m. It includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and a 26.2-mile run. Competitors have 17 hours after the final swim wave. For more details, check the athlete guide.
Athletes age range is from 18–78 years old. Occupations include attorney, construction, engineer, homemaker, nurse and sales.
There are 24 countries represented, including the United States with 2,565 registered participants. There are 50 states are represented and Tennessee has 424 registered participants.

The IRONMAN Village offers competitors, volunteers and race spectators the opportunity to interact and engage with companies within the endurance world in the days leading up to the event. Each event features exhibitors showcasing the latest trends in the industry as well as opportunities and services that are of interest to attendees. It also plays host to an athlete panel that includes some of the top pros in the series, informational athlete meetings and exciting partner announcements and prize giveaways. Located within close proximity to Athlete Registration and the IRONMAN Official Merchandise Store, the IRONMAN Village offers athletes of all ability levels a one stop shop.
