The Chancellor's Big Orange Bus Tour will visit East Hamilton High School, 2015 Ooltewah Ringgold Road in Ooltewah on Tuesday, Sept. 22 for two sessions, 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. The trip is a weeklong admission and alumni outreach tour of the state of Tennessee.
University of Tennessee, Knoxville Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek, UT Admissions and other campus leaders will present a session for prospective Volunteers for the class of 2020.
With stops in seven cities, Chancellor Cheek and other leaders hope to connect with more than 2,000 prospective students and alumni from all four corners of the Volunteer state.

"As the state's largest public research university, 88 percent of our undergraduates come to us from big cities and small towns all across the state," Chancellor Cheek said.
"Visiting with students, principals and guidance counselors on their home turf helps us to stay in touch with their needs and boost our recruiting efforts."
Kari Alldredge, who serves at UT's interim associate provost for enrollment management, said one of the best gifts an alumnus can make is the referral of a great prospective student.
"We rely heavily on referrals to help us make those important connections with prospective Vols early in the process," said Ms. Alldredge. "Our alumni are also an enormous help to us by participating in admissions events and taking the time to share what it was like to be a student here and how UT prepared them for what they are doing now."
UT's priority application and scholarship deadline is Nov. 1. The regular deadline for high school students to apply is D
