Steven Tyler Frizzell
A Soddy Daisy man who served time in prison for a 2007 vehicular homicide that left one person dead and two others permanently disabled has been arrested once last year and eight times this year.
Judge Don Poole, in sentencing Steven Tyler Frizzell to eight years in prison in 2009, said he hoped he would turn his life around.
Frizzell was the driver of a Ford Taurus that went out of control on Memorial Day 2007 on Old Hixson Pike. Robert Frizzell, 72, was dead at the scene. His wife, Joann Frizzell, was seriously injured in the wreck as was family friend, Ruby Arnold.
Frizzell did his time in prison, then his name once again began appearing on the criminal dockets.
He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in May 2014.
On March 2, 2015, a deputy saw a white Cadillac fail to make a complete stop at the intersection of Ellen Road and West Crabtree Road. When the car was pulled over, it was found that Misty Campbell was the driver and Frizzell the passenger. The deputy said he recognized Frizzell as "an abuser of narcotics." It was found that Ms. Campbell had a revoked driver's license and a felony warrant from Grundy County on a drug charge. The deputy said Frizzell admitted being "high" on drugs and acknowledged that he had thrown something out of the car window. Deputies found a syringe nearby. A syringe was also found next to the driver's seat. Under the seat where Frizzell was sitting was an uncapped syringe. Officers also found a pellet gun and digital scales. Frizzell was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.
On March 25 at 2:30 a.m., police saw Frizzell standing out of his silver Ford F150 in a car wash stall at the corner of Oyler Street and Highway 153. It was observed that the truck was not wet. Police followed Frizzell to Walmart and found that he had a revoked driver's license. He was charged with driving on a revoked license.
Frizzell was arrested on April 11 for taking a TuneCast audio accessory from the Walmart on Signal Mountain Road and leave without paying for it.
On June 15, officers checked out a fraud complaint at Best Buy on Gunbarrel Road. Frizzell was detained inside the store and found to have multiple warrants against him. A search of his car turned up a syringe, a digital scale, and a pill. He was charged with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
