Vance Joseph Ravens, 46, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015.
Vance was the son of the late Margaret Riley Ravens and Raymond Ravens; and was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Annette Carney.
Vance worked at Whirlpool for 19 years and at the time of his death, he was employed with M&M Mars. He enjoyed four wheeling, swimming and motorcycles. He loved being a grandfather and spending time with his grandchildren. Vance was a member of the Shepherds Chapel Ministries.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Boring Ravens of Cleveland; his children, Shalonda Anderson and her husband Joshua, Cassandra Jones, Thomas Ravens, Makayla Jones, Devin Ratcliff and Brandon Ratcliff; his grandchildren, Lexi Ray Anderson, McKenzie Anderson and Drake Bailey; his brothers, Brian Ravens and Jerry Ravens and his wife Diane; his nephews, Kevin, Steve and Mark Ravens; his niece, Katie Ravens; his mother and father-in-law, Rachel and Fred Boring; his brother-in-law, David Boring; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Karyn Bogert officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County with Curtis Freeman, Austin Freeman, Joshua Anderson, Todd Knowles, Ed Hartline and Tony Durbin serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16 at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
